In an interview, with Insider on March 30, 2023, Murder Mystery 2’s director said he had lied to the cast, including Sandler and Jennifer, about how the film would end and to keep the identity of the killer a secret. He further added that he thought about changing the ending, depending upon what was happening, and comically said that we have kept it hidden.
He further added his statement and said he also got the actors to say their lines in different ways and tones to create more mystery and suspense. The main reason for doing this was to maintain balance. Murder mysteries are kind of like a game where you participate as an audience member going along the journey with the actors.
