Who Is Darrell Sams from Delaware?

According to a New Castle County police statement released on Monday, a former administrator of the Appoquinimink School District has been charged with sexually soliciting a former pupil. Darrell Sams Jr., who was 39 years old in Camden Wyoming. He was taken into police custody on Friday. Darrell Sams was listed as teaching digital communications technology at Middletown High School since 2018 on a LinkedIn profile with his name and photo. Sams formerly worked for the Caesar Rodney School District, according to the report. Although it is unknown when Sams last worked for the Appoquinimink district, a district official claimed that they were aware of his detention and were working with the police.

A representative for the Appoquinimink School District, Danielle Pro-Hudson, stated that the district learned about Mr. Sams’s misbehavior in November 2022. Under district protocol, the district immediately reported the incident to the police for inquiry. Such claims, according to Pro-Hudson, are treated “with the highest seriousness and concern.” “Our top goal continues to be the health and safety of our pupils,” she said. “Anyone in the neighborhood who has any information they would want to share is encouraged to call New Castle County Police,” the statement reads.

According to the sources, Detectives from the New Castle County Police Department started looking into the matter in February in response to a complaint that Sams had sent a former Appoquinimink School District student, 17, some sexually suggestive texts. Police claimed that during the inquiry, officers discovered the communications were exchanged in June 2022. Sams was hauled into jail without incident on Friday when officers visited his home armed with a search warrant. Sams has freed after his arraignment thanks to a $60,000 cash bail.

He also received a no-contact directive. Detective Rodney Stearne can be reached at (302) 395-8068 or by email at [email protected] by anyone who believes they may have been a victim of Sams’ acts.
