Wishing a very Happy Birthday to the ARMY! Yes, you heard it right, BTS ARMY celebrates its 9th anniversary on July 9, 2022, having been named on July 9, 2013. Bangtan Sonyeodan is a beloved South Korean boy group and world music icon, BTS brought in the name of their fans by naming them ARMY. Coined from the phrase Adorable Representative MC for Youth, when BTS fandom came into existence no one expected it to become this massive force to be reckoned with. But, now that these fans have come together to create one of the biggest supportive and promoting forces for the group, the world has become aware of its many sides.
BTS released their anthology album on June 10 and announced a contest that would bring their fans together in a unique way. While the album Proof served as a walk down memory lane for the same, listening to the multiple tales shared by ARMY through the #MYBTSStory campaign allowed the fans to reminisce about their own purple journey. On the occasion of ARMY’s birthday in 2022, the BTS announced a new version of their latest title track ‘Yet To Come’ where their many stories are set to be revealed to the world. Many fans joined this campaign and shared their beautiful stories of how they came to know about BTS and what made them an ARMY, From concert clips, purple-themed rooms, trips to Seoul, and more, fans from all over the world shared their stories along with amazing videos. BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a South Korean boy band formed in 2010. The band consists of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, who co-write or co-produce much of their material. Originally a hip-hop group, their musical style has evolved to incorporate a wide range of genres, while their lyrics have focused on subjects including mental health, the troubles of school-age youth and coming of age, loss, the journey toward self-love, individualism, and the consequences of fame and recognition. Their discography and adjacent work have also referenced literature, philosophy, and psychological concepts, and include an alternate universe storyline.
