The choreographer took part in a four-city tour of the play Every Good Boy Deserves Favour in 1992. In 1995, she co-starred in the television series Marker, and in 1997, she acted in the made-for-TV film Crowned and Dangerous.
Mrs. Gates made several appearances in Microsoft television commercials in the spring of 2006 and was listed as an associate professor at the University of Southern California School of Drama as of August 2010.
